Connect your Private URL to check in, receive draws, and reopen your private CalicoTab link.

Start here: connect your account
- Find your Private URL in your tournament email. Check spam or trash if needed.
- In your tournament Discord server, type
/connectand select the command. Paste the complete link, including/privateurls/…/, intoprivate-url, then send. Keep your Private URL private: never post it in chat or share a screenshot of it. - Check your name in the private confirmation. The bot also updates your nickname and tournament roles, and sends a private DM with your tournament banner, Private URL, and tournament meeting link (if configured) for easy bookmarking. Make sure Allow direct messages from server members is enabled in your Discord Privacy settings (under User Settings → Privacy & Safety) so you receive your draw assignment and round updates by DM. If a DM does not arrive,
/roomis always your fallback to view your current matchups.

Receive your draw
For British Parliamentary (BP), your DM and /room show your position and all four teams: OG, OO, CG, and CO. Two-team draws use Aff and Neg.
When the Tab Team publishes a draw in CalicoTab, the bot normally sends your assignment by direct message (DM).
- Debaters see their team, side, opponent, room, and Adjudicators once those names are public.
- Adjudicators see the teams, room, and whether they are Chair or a panel member.
/room- Missed the DM, or asked to refresh by the Tab Team? Use this to privately view your latest released assignment.

Join your debate online
For online tournaments, your connection confirmation DM and draw DMs include the tournament meeting link, normally Zoom or Google Meet. Draw DMs include Join Your Debate to jump straight in.

Check in
When a public check-in card appears, press ✅ Check In on the latest card. Press ↩️ Check Out to reverse it. The bot writes your choice to CalicoTab and confirms privately.
- Debaters: the card says whether one representative or every team member must check in.
- Adjudicators: if the Tab Team opens an Adjudicator Check-in card, use it to confirm availability for the round.
- No buttons or a closed card? Follow the latest announcement. Ask the Tab Team if you are unsure how to check in.

If participant self check-in is not enabled, the bot posts a notice without buttons.
Follow motions and prep time
Watch the tournament channel for the published motion, info slide, and prep-time updates. Follow the latest messages; you do not need to run a command.
In tournaments featuring motion veto (such as Asian Parliamentary or Australs), the bot posts the ⚔️ Motion Release & Veto card. Any linked debater on your team can select Submit Team Veto on the announcement card or inside /room to privately rank your team's preferences. Teams should agree on their ranking before clicking Submit Team Veto. As soon as both teams submit, linked Debaters and Adjudicators receive a DM with their room's chosen motion.

Feedback reminders: when staff run a public feedback report, Moji DMs connected Adjudicators with missing feedback and all connected Debaters on Teams with missing feedback. Open your Private URL and submit the required feedback in CalicoTab. For Team feedback, coordinate with your teammates; each Debater does not need to submit separately.

Get help
If a draw DM is delayed or missing, run /room for your current assignment privately. A timeout does not prove a message was not delivered; uncertain draw DMs are not automatically resent after restart. Check your DMs before asking the Tab Team to retry.
- Invalid Private URL: copy the complete URL, including
/privateurls/…/. - Cannot see a command? Check that you are in the tournament server, then ask the Tab Team for help with command access.
- If
/connectfails, contact the Tab Team with the name shown for you in CalicoTab and, if you are a Debater, include your team name. - No draw DM: use View Draw, then try
/roomonce. - Closed check-in card: find the latest card posted by the bot.
- Missing meeting button: ask the Tab Team to check the tournament meeting link.

Never share your Private URL, authentication details, or screenshots containing them.
